We have a good reputation here at Tiger for developing apprentices in the business. Three members of our full time staff started as apprentices and are now Business Support Manager, our longest serving Works Operative and Operations Admin. We currently have three apprentices in our warehouse and two in the sales office and love the contribution they bring to the team.
As part of meet the team our sales administration apprentices have answered a few questions:
Name: Hannah
Fun fact about yourself: I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
What does your role involve and what do you enjoy about it? My role at Tiger Lifting is Sales Administrator Apprentice, this involves processing orders all the way through to dispatch, responding to customer enquiries by email and telephone, to keep records of customer interactions/maintain electronic records, provide cover for relevant roles/assist colleagues whenever necessary and also general admin duties. I enjoy working closely with staff and customers to make sure we achieve all of their needs and requirements.
What are some of the key skills that you have learnt so far during your apprenticeship? Some key skills that I have improved on would be my problem-solving skills and also my confidence when dealing with customers and certain situations.
What advice would you give to others who are thinking about doing an apprenticeship? I would recommend taking on an apprenticeship as I personally feel like it helps a lot more than gaining a qualification by just attending college. Not only are you left with a qualification at the end you also gain a lot of work experience as well as improving skills which can be applied in many different situations.
