Joe Weddell has joined us this week as a Technical and Product Manager. Joe comes to us well qualified for the post with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng) and more than four years’ experience in mechanical design engineering and more recently technical sales engineering. He is currently going through the chartership (CEng) application process with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
He brings a high level of technical expertise to support the reputation and growth of our products in their various industries. He will provide support to colleagues and our customers on technical aspects of our product range. He’ll be involved in product development and provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards.
“I’m extremely thrilled to be joining the team at Tiger Lifting, working alongside some great minds and driven personalities. I’m very happy to be joining an established quality brand with a strong focus on safety and innovation and I look forward to making a contribution on future projects. Tiger Lifting’s growth in the market and future plans make it an incredibly exciting time to be joining the team,” says Joe.
Aydan Christie has been recently promoted to our technical team as Technical Coordinator. He joined Tiger in June 2021 as a Works Coordinator in our production team. He is a time served coded welder/fabricator with over 11 years’ experience and has completed an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture so has brought some great skills to Tiger. Aydan is undertaking his LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) qualifications and has developed a good technical understanding of Tiger’s products and their unique safety advantages in the time he has been with us.
When asked about his new role, Aydan said “I’m very excited about my new role as Technical Coordinator and to be joining the Technical Team at a global manufacturer with such innovation, drive and ambition to always be continuously improving and setting new boundaries. I have gained a vast technical knowledge of Tiger’s product ranges during my time as Works Coordinator and I’m very much looking forward to my new challenge, and to be using my practical Engineering & Manufacturing experiences to contribute towards the continuing growth of both current and new products, while ensuring Tiger customers continue to receive the highest quality products and service.”
The technical capabilities, safety and conformance of our products is a key driver for Tiger so it’s important that we continue to add credibility to the team. We welcome them both Aydan and Joe to the Tiger technical team and look forward to the added value they bring.
